Letter from Director:
At Oakwood Friends, education is more than academics—it’s a journey of discovery, community, and purpose. Guided by Quaker values, we are dedicated to diversity, social justice, and nurturing young people who are eager to make a positive difference in the world.
Founded in 1796, Oakwood Friends is New York State’s oldest co-educational boarding and day school, serving students in grades 6–12 from across the U.S. and over a dozen countries. Families choose Oakwood for our close-knit community, dynamic teachers, and small classes that allow every student to be truly seen, supported, and inspired.
Our Middle School program emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning, sparking curiosity and confidence in every child. In the Upper School, students dive deeply into the arts, sciences, and humanities, developing the critical thinking and global perspective that prepare them to thrive at leading colleges and beyond.
Most of all, Oakwood Friends is a place where students and families feel at home. The connections formed here—with peers, teachers, and the larger community—last a lifetime. We invite you to explore our website and reach out to the Admissions Office to schedule a personal visit.
Discover Oakwood Friends School—where education meets inspiration, and community feels like family.
Sincerely,
Anne Mongillo
