Sue Cianfrani

Sue lives on campus with her husband and two Oakwood students Henry and Andy. She can be found most days in the campus tending to the greenhouse heirloom tomatoes, cucamelons, and composting worms, guiding students into the Hudson River tributaries in search of glass eels, or checking up on the 25,000+ Oakwood bees. She coordinates the campus recycling efforts by educating campus residents what goes in which bin and joining Terracycle programs for hard to recycle materials. A 12-year veteran with IBM microelectronics as a process-yield engineer, Sue is active in the local Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and coaches the Upper and Middle School students involved in The Cary Institute’s annual Data Jam science competitions. In her spare time, Sue coaches her son’s Town of Poughkeepsie youth soccer travel team and plays on a team herself in a local women’s league.
