Karen Nichols

 

Karen Nichols is a Humanities teacher in the Upper School, and she serves as the Math and Science Chairperson and the Professional Development Coordinator. Prior to joining Oakwood, Karen spent many years as a teacher and administrator in the independent school world. At Oakwood, Karen teaches an array of history courses, including senior seminar electives. She also teaches part time at Mount Saint Mary College and is a Teacher-Consultant with the Hudson Valley Writing Project. Karen lives in Lagrange with her husband Ben and two children, both in college. The family has four cats — one of whom relocated from Oakwood after hearing about the cushy life in Lagrange.
