‘Sioux Chef’ Sean Sherman visits Oakwood Friends School

December 06, 2017

Sean Sherman with Beth Dooley are the authors of “Sioux Chef’s Indigenous Kitchen.” They visited Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie Monday, Oct. 23, during the school’s community meeting.

The Minnesota chef talked to students and staff about indigenous cuisine and techniques, foraging for food, along with growing food and its preparation.

Sherman also was scheduled to give a talk and demonstration Monday night at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, all part of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District’s NEA Big Read program.
