Oakwood Friends School presents ‘A Doll’s House’

November 07, 2017

Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie will stage a production of “A Doll’s House,” by Henrik Ibsen.

The production will be presented at 7:30 p.m., Friday-Saturday, Nov. 10-11 in the school’s Aaron H. Lane Auditorium, 22 Spackenkill Road.

The play is set in a Norwegian town in 1879, and the main character, Nora Helmer, is being blackmailed after she borrows money and forges a name, in an effort to save her husband Torvald’s life, according to a written release. Her fate rests in the hands of a disgruntled bank employee and the audience will be left wondering if, when Torvald discovers the truth, will he protect his wife?

Donations are welcome to attend the show, which is open to the public.
