Oakwood’s Humanities Chair Stephen Miller and Professor Wendy Turgeon, Ph.D. from St. Joseph’s College received a Small Grant award from the American Philosophical Association (APA). The Small Grants Program has $25,000 to divide among projects proposed to the APA’s Board. Miller and Turgeon will receive $4,500 as Project Coordinators for the American Association of Philosophy Teachers (AAPT) Summer Seminar on Teaching and Learning Philosophy. Their AAPT Summer Seminar will give selected high school and middle school educators the opportunity to discuss new approaches to engaging students with philosophy, and exchange ideas with university faculty attending the conference.
