Summer College Prep Program Offers Socially Distant Opportunities
August 11, 2020
Oakwood offered its annual summer college prep workshop with new College Counselor Haniya Mee at the helm offering a socially distant program for college bound students. College Application Bootcamp ran on campus from August 10th – 14th from 9am – noon each day. The beginning of the week focused on completing the Common Application and drafting supplemental essays. Students also heard from college admissions officers with their tips for writing the main Common Application essay. Humanities Department Chair Stephen Miller and new English teacher Karen Nichols guided students through the brainstorming, drafting, and completion of their college essay. We are excited to have students back on campus working with both new and long term faculty members!
