Ricci Alma-Bueno

Ricci enjoys running the Middle School program here at Oakwood. In addition to her role as Director, Ricci teaches a series of Skills based classes including Student Skills to each incoming 6th grade class. This class lays the foundation for students to become “professional” students as they embark on their Middle School journey. Ricci has also developed and taught Life, Presentation and Debate Skills classes.  Ricci has expanded the Middle School advisory curriculum so that students receive their social-emotional learning based on Restorative Circles. She also created the Middle School Community Service program which identifies projects for school, local and global community service activities. In her life prior to Oakwood, Ricci went to culinary school which comes in handy when working with Middle Schoolers who are always hungry! Each year the Middle School community is always a bit different than the year before but also becomes more closely knit – something Ricci is very excited to be a part of.
