Annie Mongillo
Annie Mongillo is thrilled to be the Director of Admissions at Oakwood Friends School. She has dedicated the balance of her career to promoting student success. Most recently, Annie served as Director for International Student Affairs at Hofstra University. Before assuming this role in 2017, Annie spent seven years as Dean of Hofstra’s Center for University Advising. Prior to joining Hofstra in 2010, she worked at Columbia University as an undergraduate and graduate student academic advisor and administrator. Even before moving into academia, Annie’s work had an international focus: she began her career as an international moving consultant in Canada and later worked as an intercultural training administrator in New York City. In every position, Annie has committed herself to building strong intercultural connections between faculty, students and the global community through open and honest communication.
Annie holds a MA in Administration and Policy Studies in Education from McGill University, a Graduate Diploma in Communication Studies from Concordia University in Montreal and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut. She has also lived and worked in China and Germany. Annie lives in Poughkeepsie with a husband and son and, in her free time, enjoys making pottery.
