In his role as an upper school science teacher, Patrick is responsible for teaching 9th and 11th grade students about concepts in biology, data science, ecology, and the living environment. His work as a science teacher allows him to bring his expertise from research into the classroom for students to understand and apply to their interests and inquiries.
Prior to joining Oakwood Friends School, Patrick was a postdoctoral scholar at Penn State university where he performed research comprehending the genetics mechanisms behind development in Theobroma cacao and exploring molecular genetics. He also served as a lead instructor in a course connecting human behavior to plant biology and guest lectured in international agriculture and plant science courses.
