Health and Wellness
The wellness department at Oakwood is staffed with a team of people whose main priority is to ensure that students feel a sense of belonging and wellbeing at school. This team consists of the School Nurse, School Counselor, Director of Residential Life, Director of Community Inclusion and Social Justice and Dean of Students and Community Wellness. Together, this department works in collaboration to provide all students with services and programs that nurture their physical, mental and emotional health.
Wellness services and programming include:
- A fully equipped infirmary managed by our full time registered nurse
- Short term individual and group counseling services with drop in availability throughout the school day with your school counselor
- A warm, engaging and student centered residential life program
- Intentional programming to affirm traditionally marginalized groups and spaces that uplift and center their experiences and voices to provide a greater sense of belonging and emotional wellness.
- Student driven event planning, leadership development, community building initiatives, mediation and restorative conversations directed by the Dean of Students and Community Wellness
